Welcome new recruits! Are you ready to sign up for a unique and exciting historical experience? This step-by-step guide will help you with everything you need to do and know before stepping foot on the battlefield.​
Step One: Learn

Before enlisting with the Institute, take a moment to learn about us, our methods, and our policies.​​
Step two: Visit and Sign up

New Recruits are first required to visit with us to discuss participation in our events. We will get to know you a bit, chat about what to expect at our living history events, and walk you through completing all Required Forms

Step three: training

Before you are cleared to participate in a full Battle or Campaign event, the Institute requires that you complete a sufficient amount of training. Institute staff will work with you to set up a date and time to complete your training.

Once you have completed your training, you will be cleared to participate in a full Battle or Campaign event, where you will become a part of the epic tale of our fight for a New Birth of Freedom! Just return to the Schedule of Events page to see what events are upcoming, then Contact Us to let you know that plan on attending. Please remember that the same event instructions noted above apply to all events.
